Plot Wine is one of our all-time favourite BC producers. The saddest Canadian wine news of 2024 is that our friends in BC are closing their winery for good in the coming months. The announcement was made public just before Halloween, which came as a surprise to some, but working in Canadian wines (and especially with the climate pressures of British Columbia at present) it can be hard for even the finest wineries.
As we bid our neighbour to the west, Plot, adieu, we celebrate their last hurrah with 'Neighbour', their unmatched red blend from various areas around Okanagan, BC.
Their signature Bordeaux-style blend has a bit of Spanish flare.
Wild fermented, unfined/unfiltered, and aged 16 months in neutral French oak,
this wine lets the fruit really shine through. Cab Sauv dominant, this wine brings dark, jammy blackberry base notes with balanced acidity from the cool-climate Merlot and a touch of earthiness from the Kaleden Tempranillo.
