Northern Nights explores the distinctive ingredients and drinking traditions of places like Canada, Scandinavia, Iceland and the Nordic countries. From aquavit and Nordic gin to Canadian whisky, herbal liqueurs, wild berries, birch, spruce, honey, herbs and warming spices, we’ll discover how the flavours of the North translate into modern cocktails.
You’ll make three unique cocktails, each inspired by a different northern tradition or ingredient. Expect a mix of bright, crisp and refreshing flavours alongside deeper, more aromatic cocktails that capture the character of long northern nights.
Along the way, we’ll explore some of the spirits, ingredients and techniques that define cocktail culture across the Northern Hemisphere — and discover a few unexpected connections between Canada and Northern Europe.
