Langhe is a highly celebrated subregion of Piedmont, especially for those who love not only lighter Italian red styles but equally (if not more) complex than some richer styles. Freisa is also a very rare grape around these parts (Canada...) and one of this sommelier’s personal favourites. Nadia Curto has joined her family’s winery and began cultivating alongside their legacy in 2000. She performs quite the balancing act between modernist and traditionalist, creating nostalgic and memorable wines for years to come.
