Katsunuma Winery 'Arugano Vento' White
Details
Katsunuma Jozo was founded in 1937 by Yoshinori Aruga and is currently run by the brothers Jun, Sho and Hirotaka, who are respectively responsible for sales, vineyard management and winemaking. They are one of Japan’s most prominent independently owned wineries, devoting themselves exclusively to grape cultivation and wine making since 1973.
The Arugano Vento is a bright and vibrant wine made from Japan’s native Koshu grapes. The grapes are sourced from around Yamanashi and blended from wines of different vintages. A wine made for the nuances of Japanese cuisine, and especially good with rich Izakaya fare. Recommended by the winery for grilled yakitori skewers, particularly hearts and livers. The wine is fermented for 2 weeks in stainless steel, aged on the lees for 6 months in Horo ceramic tanks.
Region: Yamanashi, Japan
Grapes: Koshu
Tasting Notes: crisp acidity and a silky minerality thanks to the beautiful ceramic tanks.
